Let us know in detail in the news how much it will increase this time-

Khabar TV (Bureau): A good news may come soon for the central government employees. According to reports, the central government may announce a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance (DA Hike Update) in September 2024. The increased dearness allowance will be applicable from July 1, 2024.

However, this increase can also be up to 4 percent, it will depend on the situation of inflation. If the government increases DA by 3 to 4 percent on the first date of September next month (7th pay commission update in hindi), then the DA received by the central employees can increase to 53 to 54 percent.

Currently getting 50% DA

Currently, dearness allowance is 50 percent of the basic salary. According to the 7th Pay Commission, there is a discussion of including DA in the basic salary, but in case DA is more than 50 percent, it will not be included in the basic salary (DA hike latest news). Instead, allowances will be increased, which also includes HRA.

That is, if DA increases after a limit, HRA i.e. House Rent Allowance will increase. Let us tell you here that at one time during the 4th Pay Commission, DA (dearness allowance) had reached 170 percent.

There was such an increase in March

In March 2024, the Modi government had increased the dearness allowance by 4 percent to 50 percent of the basic salary and also increased the dearness relief (DR) by 4 percent.

Regarding the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, central employees (7th pay commission latest news) and workers unions have demanded its establishment before the 2024 budget and restoration of the old pension scheme.

However, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary told the Rajya Sabha in July that the government currently has no proposal (budget 2024) to constitute the 8th Pay Commission.

When will the 8th pay commission come?

The 7th Pay Commission was constituted in February 2014 and its recommendations were implemented from 1 January 2016. Usually the central government constitutes a salary commission every 10 years to revise the salaries of government employees (8th pay commission latest news).

Therefore, at present there is no proposal regarding the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, but the increase in dearness allowance can provide relief to the employees.
