He is currently lodged in Tihar Jail under judicial custody after being arrested by ED last month in the money laundering case related to the liquor scam. How is Arvind Kejriwal spending his time in Tihar?

• Senior resident doctors monitor Arvind Kejriwal’s weight, blood pressure and sugar twice a day. A jail official said the Delhi chief minister is “absolutely fine”. “His BP is fine, sugar is under control and weight is 65 kg, which is stable. He has not lost any weight,” the official was quoted as saying. However, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi minister Atishi alleged that Arvind Kejriwal has lost 4.5 kg since his arrest on March 21.
• The report said that Arvind Kejriwal does not have a chair or stool to watch TV. Hence, he stands while watching/changing channels. The source said, ‘Sometimes he sits on the bed and looks at the surroundings and sometimes he picks up a book to read.
• The 55-year-old Delhi CM is allowed to step out of his cell for a walk. However, the report claims that due to security reasons, he cannot talk to other inmates. So whenever he steps out, the area containing other cells in the barrack is cleared.

• Arvind Kejriwal is the first Chief Minister to be lodged in Asia’s largest prison. He is kept in a 14×8 feet room located in General Ward No. 3 of Jail No. 2 in Tihar.
• Earlier, news agency PTI had reported that Kejriwal reads books most of the day and does yoga and meditation twice a day. The books given to him include Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata and ‘How the Prime Minister Makes Decisions’. A source said, ‘He is often seen sitting on a chair in his cell, reading books and writing something.
• The report said Kejriwal has also been given a broom, a bucket and a piece of cloth to clean his cell – which is given to all inmates as per the jail manual.
