There will be two categories of coaches in the bullet train-
In response to a supplementary question about categories in the bullet train, the Railway Minister said that E. Sridharan, who was the director of Delhi Metro from 1995 to 2012, made a very good arrangement in the metro that there should be no classification of categories.
At that time I used to work in the office of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Keeping in mind the point of Sridharan, there will be two categories in the bullet train, the first will be general and the second will be of special class.
Will the general public be able to travel, know what Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said-
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, ‘Only two classes were kept in Vande Bharat. Our priority is to have only one class so that anyone can come and sit anywhere.
This is because when we envision a prosperous society, there are no classes in it.’ The Railway Minister said that work has started on India’s first bullet train project with the cooperation of Japan and during this project, good information has been received about the working methods and technology.
Bullet train will run from Ahmedabad to Mumbai-
The Railway Minister said that almost all the major economies of the world have connected their big cities with bullet trains. ‘This is a complex technology. When the speed of any vehicle increases, it needs a lot of control.’
He said that India’s first bullet train will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and this will be done with the cooperation of Japan. He said that Japan started working on bullet trains in 1969 and today it has mastered it.
New methods and new information are being discovered-
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that with this project, technology has been well assimilated in India. ‘Many new ways of working and new knowledge have been discovered with this project, such as how to make the elevated track earthquake resistant, how to install 40 meter long, 1100 tonne girders together.
The technology of many big cranes and molds has also started developing in India.’ He said that this project should not be seen as a transportation project.
320 fillers have been applied so far since the Covid period-
The Railway Minister said that the bullet train connects the economies of 4-5 big cities and creates a big economy. Giving the example of Japan, he said that the bullet train connected the economies of Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto cities. This reduces the travel time of 100 km to 15-20 minutes or half an hour, which is useful.
In response to another supplementary question, he said that the bullet train is a complex project and its design is also special and is prepared according to the geographical condition of the country.
Many countries took 20 years only for the design. In our country, the completion of the work of making 320 fillers for the bullet train after the Covid period is a big thing.
Will bullet trains be run in Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal as well?
According to the Railway Minister, ‘There is no obstacle of any kind in the bullet train project. The project is complex but the work is going on rapidly after preparing its design with utmost care.’
He was asked whether bullet trains will be run in backward states like Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha in the coming days. On this Vaishnav said, ‘Right now the entire focus is on understanding and assimilating the complex technology and creating its industrial ecosystem in the country.’
According to the Railway Minister, the technology of the big cranes for lifting the girders came from abroad but now these cranes are being made in India itself.
Similarly, the technology of the mould is also being made in India after being brought from abroad. He said that in view of the population and changing conditions, elevated passenger corridors will have to be built in the future.
